Ask for and share feedback

TOPS Feedback Sketch from Curiosity with Gusto by Felix Harling

Lessons from my 10-year anniversary at SAP

I found it very valuable to receive feedback on delivered workshops or situations which I perceived as challenging. It’s an eye-opener to better understand how others have perceived the same situation or experience.

There are many ways to share feedback. One useful and simple framework which I’ve often applied is TOPS:

TIMELY – When and where did the specific behavior occur?

OBSERVATION – What were the specific actions observed (share behaviors, avoid judgement)

PERCEPTION – What was my perception of what I observed (use “I” statements)?

STRATEGY – Where do we go from here (Stop, Start, Continue, Do more of, Do differently)?

What is your favourite way to often share feedback?
